The Roof (6-21-03)

After walking by this ladder in the third floor, I finally got the guts to climb up it and take a peak at the roof.

So, here we go, climbing up the ladder after making sure that trap door thing would even open. This ladder is scary as hell though. Its basically comprised of a bunch of ancient scrap wood sort of nailed together.

Ok, so I make it up there the first thing you really notice is how big the top of the turret is. I couldn't believe it.

And now a look to the right. Not too much exciting there (other then the tops of trees).

Now to left. You can clearly see the lift bridge poking through the trees. Notice how the tops of the towers are just about eye level.

Now even more to the right. You can see MI-26 snaking it's way up the hill there.

This, obviously, is the top of the chimney. Couple things to notice here. First, that flat area is pretty big. Cool. And Second, look at the light pole in the background. Even cooler.

Its been fun, but there's work to do about 50 feet below that hatch. So I'd better get going.
